Co-Op Learning with Mrs Emily Teaches

A simple, structured, and encouraging learning environment designed to support both students and families.

What is the Mrs Emily Teaches Co-Op?

The Mrs Emily Teaches Co-Op is a small group learning experience where students come together to grow academically and confidently in a consistent, supportive setting.

*This is not a full curriculum replacement. Each quarter this group focuses on a topic in science, social studies, and an elective.

Who It’s For Who it’s for

The co-op is best suited for:

  • Students who benefit from gentle structure and routine

  • Families looking for academic support without overwhelm

  • Children who thrive in small group, relational environments

  • Homeschool families wanting accountability and enrichment

Inside A Typical Session

Our time together follows a consistent rhythm:
  • 9 am: Bible Time - optional for all families, moms are welcome to stay and bring your littles!

  • 10 am: Science

  • 11 am: Social Studies

  • 12 pm: Lunch

  • 12:30: Elective

  • 2 pm: Pick up

Showcase Night

At the end of each quarter, students will participate in a Showcase Night to share what they’ve learned with family and friends. More than a performance, it’s a celebration of growth, effort, and learning together.

What are we studying?

In Quarter 4 we're learning:

  • Science - Animal Habitats - students will learn about 4 different animal habitats in class and then create a diorama of a habitat of their choosing to display at Showcase Night!

  • Social Studies - Government Basics - students will learn about the three branches of government and perform a skit during Showcase Night

  • Elective - Cooking Through Cultures - students will learn about 6 different countries and cook a recipe each week in class! For Showcase Night, students will choose a country to research and bring in a dish to share with friends and family.

This co-op is intentionally:

  • Each child is known and supported. Each quarter is capped at 15 students

  • No busywork or overwhelm. Each subject focuses on one large project that will be presented at Showcase Night at the end of each quarter.

  • Students are encouraged, not rushed. Understanding is prioritized over speed, and students are given the time and space they need to think, try, and grow without pressure.

My goal is not just academic growth, but helping students become capable and confident learners.

Parent Involvement

Parents play an important role in the success of the Co-Op.

You can expect:

  • Clear communication

  • Simple follow-through during the week

  • No complicated prep or teaching requirements
